Day 19: West Bagborough to Taunton

After getting fed up with my soaking wet boots, I decided to spend the day solely on roads and canal pathways.

As my original route into Taunton involved mostly roads, I decided to make it entirely roads so I could abandon my walking boots for the day and put on my trainers. 

I headed out covering 9 miles of never ending roads, eventually making it into Taunton. 

I spent a couple of hours shopping and grabbing lunch in Taunton. I stocked up on cereal bars, porridge, shampoo and also popped into my favourite shop, Go Outdoors, to replace a pair of socks that already have holes in them. I then ventured out of Taunton via the many canal paths. 

There was no camping tonight, as I had special accommodation arranged. My friend Sophie’s parents, Elaine and Andrew, kindly let me stay at their house on the outskirts of Taunton. I even had a roast dinner and apple crumble, a much needed hearty meal after the last few days eating packet pasta.
