Day 92: Golspie to Brora
It was a short walk today, but it packed a lot in! There was a castle, the beach, seals, sheep and of course, cows.

It was another beautiful day up here in the Scottish Highlands. I hopped on a train from Helmsdale back to Golspie and got walking.
I ventured out of the town and came across Dunrobin Castle from the beach. I didn’t have time to go in, but it was an impressive view from the outside.
I spent all day right alongside the sea, walking on and off the beach as I headed towards Brora. There were still some fields to walk through, and it wasn’t long until I was reunited with the cows. Thankfully, there weren’t very bothered with my presence today.
The landscape felt remarkably similar to that of when I started the walk in Cornwall. The only thing missing is the ups and downs of the cliffs, but I know that is coming in the next few days.
An animal I hadn’t seen since Cornwall until today was the seal, and there were plenty sunbathing on the beach.
There was a surprising amount of sea debris along the shore, with lots of fishing equipment and other random items.
I arrived in Brora and headed to the train station and back to Helmsdale.
Due to the short day, I’ve got a whole afternoon to relax. There’s really not that much going on in Helmsdale, but I do have my own room here, so I’m going to enjoy the luxury of having a TV for the rest of the day.
Tomorrow, I’ll head back to Brora and walk back to Helmsdale.
