When I woke up, you’d never think there’d been a storm last night, as where there were puddles all over the campsite had dried up.
I did have a surprise when I lifted up my roll mat though, water had come up underneath the tent, so a lot of drying out was needed, including the clothes I wore the previous night.
While that was happening, Rhona and I went for breakfast. I had a full English with an extra piece of bacon and sausage. They must have felt I needed feeding up. Rhona didn’t get the same treatment, which she was fuming about.
Once Rhona left, I wandered into the town and stocked up at the large Co Op for the next couple of days.
I headed back to camp for the day, which was rather nice as the weather was so good. I made the most of it and hand washed all of my dirty laundry.
I also treated myself to something different for lunch and dinner, having some ravioli and pasta sauce. Don’t worry, the old favourite chilli con carne returns tomorrow.
While I was in the tent, I did have a surprise visitor who made themselves at home.
I planned out the next week of my walk, which takes me to the end of the Pennine Way. It feels like I’ve been on this trail forever, and I’m looking forward to finishing it. I am over half way now though, only one week to go!

Offers still there for Dufton tomorrow tonight Danny👍
ReplyDeleteThanks for the offer but I’m going to stay in Dufton with some others I’ve met on the Pennine Way.
DeleteOh, Danny, loved the breakfast comment! And the chicken.
