Day 9: Trelill to Boscastle
Back on the South West Mud Path today. A very challenging day of ups and downs and walking through mud.
- Date: 29 March 2024

- Miles: 16.5
- Total miles: 115.7

It was a very cold night last night so I didn’t manage to sleep that much, but I woke up early to get going at 7am knowing this would be a long day.
I spent a couple of miles on the road to rejoin the South West Coast Path, which was covered in mud, making progress slow. I also joined right at the point I had to navigate three huge valleys.
I took a detour into the town of Tintagel to get some food, having a Cornish pasty for the first time on the walk.
After fuelling up, I headed back onto the cliffs with more ups and downs, and mud, before arriving in the charming Boscastle.
I had one final climb for another three miles before reaching camp for the night. The sun came out and it was rather beautiful.
I made it to camp, popped the tent up, watched the sunset, then had some baked beans and bread.
Tomorrow I head to Bude, which is one of the most challenging day’s of walking for the entire trek. Luckily, it’s meant to be a sunny day!
